Relationships and Sex Education

Delighted to have such positive feedback from an independent school.

Back in the summer of 2014 I was invited by Fiona Burgess to spend a day with her and another PSHE colleague carefully going through the guiding priciples of Apause and exploring how the resources really enhance the delivery skills of the teacher.  As Fiona emphasizes in her comment below, the key to success is the fun and quality of interactions Apause can engender in the learners.

"It went really well last year, the resources are so easy to follow with interaction from the pupils being the key aspect which has enabled  fun and productive lessons. There is so much to cover that we haven't got through all the resources yet and we are now looking to introduce the Peer mentor programme this year."

I am well aware that on a cursory reading it is not always obvious quite how our resources are designed to work. This is because the really important learning occurs through the highly social interactions and 'performed' elements achieved by the students. So, I was particularly encouraged and grateful for the time Wellingborough School made available to me.

How much time are we talking about?  Well, this was a bespoke training day designed to orientate two already experienced and proficient teachers, but all the adult-led components were covered and there was still enough time before the end of the day to have a good look at the peer-led materials and training resources.

If this sounds tempting check out our training and resources pages.

Despite the fact we offer 'packages' these are really only indicative to give an idea of price and time requirements.  Most of our work in schools is bespoke and we have a great deal of experience and success working with school nurses and health professionals.

I look forward to hearing from you.
