Whether you’re focussed on their sexual health or the quality of their classroom experience, all the evidence shows that sex and relationships education does not meet the needs of our youth.
And there is little reason to think it will suddenly improve.
We believe we offer some solutions.

Apause (Added Power and Understanding in Sex Education)

All our work in sex and relationships education has two central premises:

• young people learn best off each other,
• relationships skills require practice.

This means that all our learning activities are either delivered by peer educators or use a peer assisted learning approach facilitated by adults. and learning is achieved through the practice of relevant behavioural skills.
We want any teacher to be able to either buy our re-useable resources at low cost or download them for free. We want them to go into the classroom trusting that the materials they are working with are tried and tested and that they will deliver a satisfactory session.
Finally, our research has shown that the full Apause programme is effective at reducing risk taking behaviours.
